Ronaldo's hat-trick saves Manchester United from McGuire and Tottenham
Manchester United overcame Tottenham Hotspur's 3-2 victory on Saturday night in a match hosted by Old Trafford at the top of the 29th round of the Premier League.
Manchester United Cristiano Ronaldo (12-38-81) scored, while Tottenham's Harry Kane (35) and Harry McGuire (72) scored.
With that result, Manchester United increased their tally to 50 points in fourth place, while Tottenham's tally was frozen from 45 points in seventh place.
Manchester United opened the scoring early in the 12th minute, with a rocket shot from outside the box through Ronaldo, which caught Lloris' net.
United looked to add the second goal quickly, with a cross-line shot through Pogba from the edge of the penalty area in the 16th minute, which passed just next to the post.
The response came from Spurs with a powerful ground shot from Hoiberg from outside the box in the 18th minute, which de Gea caught.
Ronaldo scored a header from Tellis in the 23rd minute, scoring a header that went past the post.
Tottenham wasted a chance to amend the score in the 26th minute, after Dyer followed up across from a corner, scoring a header that Dalot removed from the line, and Hoiberg followed it with a shot from inside the area that went up the crossbar.
Tottenham got a penalty in the 34th minute, with a hand touch on Tellis, which Kane successfully executed, hitting a powerful ball to de Gea's right.
United quickly regained the lead in the 38th minute, starting from Sancho on the left side, sending Ronaldo's solo cross into the area, to shoot a straight ball into the net.
Sancho hit a ground ball from inside the area in the first minute of stoppage time, which went easy in Lloris' hands, ending the first half with United (2-1).
Tottenham almost scored in the 61st minute, after Kolosevski had paved the ball for Son inside the box, and the South Korean hit a direct ground ball that went just past the post.
Ronaldo appeared in the second half in the 66th minute, with a powerful shot from the right side of the penalty area, which Lloris countered.
Tottenham managed to adjust the score again in the 72nd minute after Region sent a ground cross from the left side of the penalty area, to try to keep McGuire away but he scored by mistake in his goal.
Ronaldo almost scored the hat-trick in the 76th minute, after hitting a powerful ball from inside the area, and Lloris excelled in taking it away to a corner.
Ronaldo signed the hat-trick in the 81st minute, after rising to a cross from a corner, scoring a neat header that blocked the net, ending the match with a 3-2 victory for Manchester United.
