Liverpool surround City with precious win over Arsenal
Liverpool reduced the gap with leaders Manchester City to one point, beating hosts Arsenal (2-0) on Wednesday evening, in a postponed premier league match.
Diogo Guetta scored for the Reds with a 54-minute lead, and Roberto Firmino added the second (62).
Liverpool increased their tally to 69 points in second place, one point ahead of leaders Manchester City, while Arsenal's balance froze at 51 points in fourth place, knowing that they have two postponed games
The threat is thoughtful.
Liverpool threatened arsenal's goal in the second minute, when right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold executed a corner, followed by fellow Dutchman Virgil van Dijk with his head, but goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale pushed it into a corner.
Arsenal responded in the ninth minute, when Bukayo Saka sent a ball from the right towards the far post, followed by fellow Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli immediately in front of goal, before being followed by Cameroonian defender Joel Matip.

Arsenal's Cedric Soares, with a powerful right-footed shot, tried to pass past liverpool's right-hand post in the 23rd minute.
Arsenal attacked Derbaka in liverpool's penalty area, before the ball reached Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka, who shot past the goal in the 33rd minute.

After the goal, Jota and Luis Diaz came out of the Liverpool squad, with Salah and Roberto Firmino in their place, and Salah picked up the ball after a corner, but shot high into the stands in the 59th minute.
Firmino's Touch
Liverpool quickly added the second goal in the 62nd minute, when Robertson cut the ball into the left, advancing and passing in front of goal to Firmino, who followed it with a single touch in goal from close range.
Ivory Nicolas Pepe was included in Arsenal's squad in Saka's place, and Eddie Nketiah replaced Lacazette, but Liverpool significantly tightened their defence in the final minutes.
Arsenal almost narrowed the gap in the 88th minute, when Xhaka passed the ball to Martinelli on the left side, with the latter scoring a centre-back that was two centimetres away from the far post.
