Manchester United regain balance with a double against Brighton
Manchester United regained the winning tone by beating Brighton 2-0 on Tuesday night in the postponed match at Old Trafford in round 18 of the Premier League.
United's Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the 51st minute and Bruno Fernandez in the 97th minute.
With that result, Manchester United increased their tally to 43 points to rise to fourth place, while Brighton were frozen at 33 points in ninth place.
The first try of the game came for Brighton in the fifth minute, with a move from Mudir on the right side of the penalty area, hitting a ball that De Gea countered.
The response came quickly from United in the seventh minute, after Ronaldo passed a magic ball to Sancho inside the area to single out Sanchez and shoot a ball that the Brighton keeper starred in the tackle.
Mudir sent a ground cross from the right side in the 17th minute, followed by McAllister with a shot straight from inside the area, which went easy in de Gea's hands.
Gross tried to surprise De Gea in the 31st minute, after he followed up with a ball away from Shaw, hitting a ball on the bird from the edge of the area, which passed to the side of the post.
Bisuma then hit a powerful ball from outside the box in the 37th minute, which went away from goal.
Brighton almost opened the scoring in the 39th minute, after Muder had risen to a right-hand side display, scoring a powerful header that De Gea had excelled at taking away a corner.
Brighton continued to march towards the United goal, after Mudir passed a ball to Bisuma inside the area, the latter scoring a direct ball in the 40th minute, passed a little to the side of the post, ending the first half with a goalless draw.
United opened the scoring in the 51st minute, after McTominay missed the ball from Bisuma, reaching Ronaldo, who dodged Webster, and then hit a rocket from the edge of the area that blocked Sanchez's net.
Brighton's plight increased in the 54th minute, after the referee had given Dank a red card after returning to the technique of the fugitive, because he had blocked Elaanga, who was in a single position.
United almost added the second goal in the 66th minute, after Fernandez sent a cross into the area, to which Ronaldo rose with a powerful header that Sanchez starred in keeping it away to a corner.
United continued to waste the chances achieved, after Sanchez missed the ball pass, to be missed by Ronaldo and prefers to pass to Fernandez next to him inside the area, which singled out Sanchez, and hit the ball the goalkeeper starred in the tackle in the 71st minute.

Contrary to the course of the game, Moder almost stunned United by scoring the equaliser, after he hit a cross from outside the area in the 78th minute, hitting the crossbar.
Fernandez responded with a deep incursion in the 81st minute, which he finished with a powerful shot from the edge of the area, countered by Sanchez, followed by McGuire with a ground shot from inside the area, which was caught by the Brighton keeper.
In the 90th minute Welbeck rose to a cross from Lambti, scoring a header that went over the top of the crossbar.
Fernandez fired a ruthless shot at Brighton by adding the second goal in the seventh minute of stoppage time, after Pogba made a quick foul as Brighton moved forward, with Fernandez singled out Sanchez and managed to score in the net, ending the match with a 2-0 victory.
