Liverpool make offer to snatch Real Madrid goal

Liverpool have made an official offer to include one of the players, who has been linked with Real Madrid, in the current winter mercato.

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool have begun talks with Fulham about the possibility of taking advantage of star Fabio Carvalho, for £5 million.

Carvalho's contract with Fulham is only six months away and will be available free of charge in the summer, if he does not renew his contract with the team playing this season in the Championship League.

Liverpool have made an offer for the attacking midfielder, although Fulham are still determined to keep him, with coach Marco Silva publicly ruled out his imminent departure last week.

Liverpool may consider loaning Carvalho as part of any deal with Fulham, keen to play their part in helping Fulham return to the Premiership.

If a compromise is reached, it will avoid losing only a compensation fee in the summer, and Liverpool will avoid fierce competition from other clubs for the 19-year-old's services.

Carvalho has been at Fulham since he was 14, but has decided not to sign a new contract with the club.

Liverpool signed Harvey Elliott, Carvalho's former Fulham youth team-mate, in a deal that required a court decision to pay Liverpool an initial fee of £1.2 million for the 16-year-old, with additions of up to £4.3 million.

According to press reports, Carvalho's name is linked to Real Madrid, who are seeking to join him for free next summer.
